Available in two playful shapes and a carefully curated selection of colours, the Float Shelf can be displayed on its own or combined to create unique wall compositions. Each shelf is made to order in the Netherlands using FSC-certified plywood. By producing every piece especially for its future home, unnecessary waste is reduced while ensuring the care and craftsmanship every Studio Jes Iken design deserves.

The Float Shelf is available in two playful shapes, each with its own character. Choose the one you love most, or combine both to create a dynamic wall composition with a little extra movement and personality.

Both versions share the same dimensions and functionality. The only difference is the direction of the flowing curve. Together they create a balanced yet playful composition that works beautifully above a desk, in a children's room or as part of a larger gallery wall.

Looking for something more personal? Every piece can also be finished in a custom colour. Simply select 'Custom colour' as your colour choice, add the Custom Colour option to your cart, and enter the paint brand and colour code in the order notes at checkout.

If your order includes multiple furniture pieces in the same custom colour, the surcharge only needs to be added once to the largest item.

80cm wide x 23cm deep. Choose a thickness of 36mm for a chunky or 45mm for an extra chunky look.

Each Float Shelf is crafted from FSC-certified plywood and finished in a carefully curated selection of durable lacquer colours, chosen to stand up beautifully to everyday use.

Looking for something a little more distinctive? The Float Shelf is also available in pine plywood finished with pigmented linseed oil. This finish allows the natural grain of the wood to remain visible beneath beautifully pigmented colours, creating a unique balance between bold colour and natural texture.

How is the shelf mounted?
The Float shelf is supplied with a hidden wall mounting system and all the necessary hardware for installation. Once mounted, the shelf appears to float seamlessly against the wall.

How much weight can the shelf hold?
When installed correctly on a suitable wall, the Float shelf is strong enough for everyday use. It's perfect for displaying books, toys, artwork and treasured objects. We don't recommend using it for very heavy items.

What is the shelf made from?
The Float shelf is crafted from FSC-certified pine plywood. You can choose between a durable matte lacquer finish or a pigmented linseed oil finish, which allows the natural wood grain to remain visible.

How do I clean the shelf?
Simply wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals to keep the finish looking its best.

Can I order colour samples?
Yes. You can order a sample book featuring our lacquer colours. If you're considering a pigmented linseed oil finish, feel free to get in touch. We'd be happy to help you choose the option that best suits your space.

Can I order a custom colour?
Absolutely. If you're looking for a colour that isn't shown, I'd be happy to make one especially for your space. Simply select Custom colour before adding the shelf to your cart, and I'll get in touch to discuss the options.

Can I return my order?
Because every Waves Storage is made to order, returns are generally not accepted. If your order arrives damaged or there is a manufacturing issue, please get in touch and we'll always work together to find a suitable solution.
